Here is a video from You Tube. If you ever wanted to be His Hand extended now is the time. Please donate to Haiti. You can give a donation to Love A Child and I know the money will go straight to the hurting people in Haiti. Love A Child has an Orphanage, many churches, many schools and a very good clinic. Facebook Saved a Live, Literally

This is a miracle that I just have to share on our blog. Several years ago we sent 13 dialysis machines along with other medical equipment to Haiti to be used in the Hospital Militaire. We are so excited that we are crying and rejoicing at the same time.

A-Mazing story:

Our friend Trish (in Alberta) contacted me (at 4:14 on Monday), about the brother (in Haiti) of a friend of a friend of hers (in Miami), who desperately needed dialysis after the quake. She was looking for places in PAP that had the equipment. I posted that on FB at 4:30. Got a message from an angel - Randy - who I don't even know, at 4:36. His org had brought dialysis machines to Hopital Militaire. I passed that on to Trish right away, who passed it on to her friend. The brother went to Hopital Militaire and got what he needed!

An inter-continental FB exchange that literally saved a life!!!!!!

This feels great!

Haiti Still Shaking

The Haitian people that have survived the earthquake and the 90+ aftershocks are either starving or dying from their injuries. This picture above is people begging for food. There should be food to go around and that is where we that have can give to those who do not have.

These are people desperately trying to get some water to drink.

I would like to quote a passage from a book called “The Hole in our Gospel” by Richard Stearns.

“For I was hungry, while you had all you needed. I was thirsty, but you drank bottled water. I was a stranger, and you wanted me deported. I needed clothes, but you needed more clothes. I was sick, and you pointed out the behaviors that led to my sickness. I was in prison, and you said I was getting what I deserved.”

The Haitian people are good people. They did nothing to deserve what has happened to them. To be honest I don’t believe anyone deserves what has happened to the Haitian people.

But, you can do something to help. I don’t mean you have to leave your home and go to Haiti. (unless you have the skills and God says GO) But you can help right from your own home. There are people there who are working day and night to help the people. You can help those people helping people. You can give of your money while they give of their time and their energy. Bobby & Sherry Burnette of LOVE A CHILD Ministries are working around the clock to help the injured people of Haiti. You can help Bobby and Sherry with a cash donation and also with your prayers. Just click on the words LOVE A CHILD and you will be directed to the web site of LOVE A CHILD where you can either donate online or go to their contact page and call their offices in Tampa, Florida and speak to one of their staff there to make your donation. But please do something to help.

Haitians need your help

I know I have already said this but I am just going to say it again. The Haitian people need your help like never before. The best way you can help them is by helping the people who are there in Country helping them. This way you can get the money directly into the hands of the people who are there with the people. The way you can do this is to give a donation to Love A Child Ministries. They are going every day to Port-au-Prince to pick up wounded and injured people and are driving them back to their ministry. Once they have them there they feed them, give them GOOD water to drink and treat their injuries. If they are too injured for them to treat them then they get them to the hospital for treatment.

So what are you waiting for make a donation now to Love A Child. All you have to do is click on the words Love A Child and it will take you directly to their web site where you can learn about them and either donate online or get their telephone number and call them with a donation.

You can read Sherry's journal and follow along with what they are doing for the Haitian people.

Haiti is in Crisis

As I am sure you know by now unless you have been living on the moon lately that Haiti has had an earthquake that for their country is huge. Although Randy and I are not living in Haiti right now and due to health issues cannot even attempt to go there, that doesn't mean that we don't care about Haiti and love the Haitian people. Our hearts are still for Haiti.

I am going to put some of the pictures at the end of this blog. You have probably seen some or all but I can't let you forget what you have seen. You must remember and you must do something about it. I am going to give you several Missionary organizations that I know are doing a good work there in Haiti if you wish to go to their web sites and make donations I know the money would go straight to the Haitian people in some form of aid. Right now they need medical care, food, clean water, clothes. In the future they will all need places to live so housing will need to be built. But right now to be honest what these ministries need is money. There is no way for us to get actual goods into Haiti at this time with the port being destroyed and trouble getting planes into Haiti at the airport.

If anyone wishes to donate to us "Our Hearts for Haiti" I will send the money on to two Haitian Pastors we know in Haiti. Pastor Edner Blanc and Pastor Voltaire Baptiste. They both pastor churches and do a great work there in Haiti for their own people. I will tell you that we DO NOT have a 501 (c) 3 so we would not be able to give you a tax deduction for your taxes. I just want to be very honest and upfront with everyone.

OK here are some of the ministries that I know are doing a great work in Haiti I will just put their web address and you can find their information on their web as to how to donate to them
The last news we heard on Tara & Troy Livesay is that they were able to send their 5 children home on a military transport but they are saying they are about to run out of fuel and that the stations that are open are now charging $14.00 U.S. for 1 gallon of gas. They need the fuel to run their generators so that they can help the people.

Livesay Haiti Weblog This is Troy and Tara Livesay

Children's Care Outreach This is Glenn & Donna Hayes.

Love A Child Ministries This is Bobby & Sherry Burnette

This is a view of a typical street in Port-au-Prince

We have been told from a missionary in Haiti that 90% of the building in Port-au-Prince have collapsed. Some that did not collapse at the immediate time of the earth quake have fallen since then.

This is damage to the slum area of Port-au-Prince

This man just found his wife and 10 month old daughter lying with the dead.

PLEASE you have to help these suffering people. They are not responsible for the suffering they are being forced to endure.

From my heart to your heart

Today is a bitter sweet day for me I guess you could say. We are not working in Haiti right now and to be honest don't know if we will ever be able to go back to Haiti on a permanent basis. We have some health issues which at this time make it impossible to do this. But that doesn't mean that we don't still have a heart for Haiti because we certainly do.

Today is a day that I have dreaded every year for over 35 years. It has absolutely nothing to do with Haiti but guess I just have to have someplace where I can vent how I feel on this day. This is the day that our first born child and only son went to be with Jesus. To say it gets easier over time I am not sure is a true statement. I really start during December dreading January 6th. But, I do sit and think about our Brian and his short life (less than 3 years) and I have to say during that time he had a good life. He was not homeless, hungry, without clothes, without loving parents (or just parents for that matter) but even with good medical care in the United States we still lost him. I am thankful that he did have a happy life and his passing at the time spoke to so many people in dealing with their own children.

I don't know if this post will make sense to anyone except me but if it does then that is great. But if it doesn't then maybe it is just something I had to do for myself.

Stormy Weather

Boy lately we have really had the stormy weather here in Central Florida. Today the kids were out playing in the sprinkler and we had a storm roll in like you would not believe. The kids were mad when I made them come int he house but they had not been in the house like 3 minutes when it hit like gang busters. We had gusts of wind up to like 60 mph and enough rain to drown just about anything you could think of. They were saying on the TV that the lightning strikes were hitting faster than they could actually count them. What can I say when FLorida does a storm they do it right.
